On August 17th, the Climate TRAINING Camp of Shengze Textile and Apparel Enterprises was successfully held in Shengze Administrative Service Center. The training camp was guided by the Social Responsibility Office of China National Textile Council and hosted by China Textile Information Center and Shengze Economic Development and Reform Bureau. More than 50 enterprise representatives from 41 key enterprises in seven subsectors of Shengze textile and garment industry participated in this training camp.

On June 16, 2021, Shengze Fashion Week and the 9th Jiangsu (Shengze) Textile Expo cloud exhibition opening ceremony officially released the "Shengze Textile Industry cluster carbon neutral vision", at the same time announced to join the China National Textile Industry Council "Climate Innovation 2030 Action".

On July 23, 2021, the launching meeting of Shengze Textile Industry Climate Innovation Action Project was held. Li Xia, Director of Regional Cooperation Department of External Environment Cooperation Center of Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Shen Chunrong, Deputy district head of Wujiang District People's Government, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Wujiang High-tech Zone and Party Secretary of Shengze Town, Qiao Yanjin, Director of China Textile Information Center, Yan Yan, Director of the Social Responsibility Office of China National Textile Industry Council and other officials attended the kickoff meeting. Sun Ytingting, Standing member of Climate Finance Committee of Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, was also invited to the meeting. Zhao Lijian, General Manager of Carbon Trust China, and Chen Yanwei, Senior manager of Sustainable Development of HSBC China, discussed the way forward for Shengze to become a national demonstration zone for exploring carbon peak and carbon neutrality from the perspectives of climate and finance. Since the implementation of the regional industrial carbon peak, carbon neutral baseline and road map planning work in Shengze, the carbon emission data of more than 60 typical enterprises in Shengze have been investigated in detail, and the first draft of "Double Carbon Strategic Planning for Shengze Textile Cluster" has been formed.

This climate training camp is aimed at key enterprises in Shengze, focusing on improving their climate change expertise and climate innovation action capacity, so as to support the double-carbon planning and development of the textile industry cluster in Shengze. At the beginning of the training camp, Chen Mingyuan, deputy director of Shengze Economic Development and Reform Bureau, gave a speech, introducing the background and work plan of Shengze textile industry climate innovation action. Lecturers from China Textile Information Center conducted training on the topics of "Climate Action Progress and Industrial Cluster Practice in China's Textile and apparel Industry", "Strategies, Paths and Pioneer Practices for Enterprises' Dual Carbon Action", and carbon emission data collection.

All enterprise representatives expressed their determination to take action on climate by wearing the "Zero Carbon Master - Climate Practitioner Mask", and actively asked questions about the follow-up work in the interaction and exchange session, striving to promote Shengze textile industry as a leading demonstration in global climate governance and China's carbon neutrality process.
