Nylon thermal fuse is a commonly used functional synthetic fiber material in the field of textile bonding. Its core advantage lies in its stable and highly adaptable bonding performance. With the characteristics of low-temperature melting, uniform bonding, and firm curing, it is widely applied in various fields such as clothing, shoe materials, home furnishings, and automotive interiors. It is a high-quality bonding material that replaces traditional adhesives and stitches.


Nylon thermal fuse is also known as low-melting-point nylon filament or polyamide hot melt filament. Its "bonding" is different from ordinary adhesives. It belongs to a heat-activated type of bonding: at room temperature, it is in the form of ordinary yarn and can be normally woven and blended; when the temperature rises to the set melting point, the filament softens and melts, seeps into the gaps of the surrounding fibers, and cools and solidifies to lock the fiber nodes together.


From the perspective of bonding performance, nylon thermal fuse performs relatively evenly. Common melting points can be controlled at 85℃, 110℃, 130℃, 180℃, etc. When heated to the corresponding temperature, it melts and flows, and can form a stable bond with nylon, polyester, cotton, etc. fibers. Unlike liquid adhesives that cover a thick layer of adhesive, it solidifies in a "point-net-surface" manner, so after bonding, it is less likely to become hard, yellow, or brittle, and the fabric can retain a certain degree of softness and elasticity.


Whether the bonding is strong or not mainly depends on three points: First, whether the melting point matches the temperature resistance of the substrate; if the temperature is insufficient, it will be "false bonding", that is, the surface seems bonded but actually does not form an effective bond; if the temperature is too high, it may seep adhesive or damage the fabric; second, the fineness/fiber blending ratio; thick filaments have stronger adhesion, while thin filaments are more suitable for lightweight lace and seamless underwear; third, whether the cooling and holding pressure is adequate. If not held tightly, it is prone to local detachment.


Compared with polyester thermal fuse, nylon thermal fuse has a softer feel and better elasticity, and is more commonly used in close-fitting clothing, fly-ripped shoe uppers, lace edging, and seamless underwear linings; its water-wash resistance performance is also good. Under normal washing conditions, the bonding layer is not easily separated or delaminated. If it is used for automotive interiors, luggage base fabrics, etc., which require stiffness and heat resistance, it is more inclined to polyester-based hot melt materials.
