Recently, the 2026 Collaborative Innovation Exchange Conference on Biobased Chemical Fibers and Raw Materials Industry Chain was held in Changshu, Jiangsu Province. The conference conducted in-depth discussions on key technological breakthroughs in biobased fibers, industry chain collaboration, standardization construction, and market implementation, clarifying the development path for the green transformation of the textile industry.

K Jin Gaoling, the vice president of the China Chemical Fibers Association, summarized the current development status and introduced, "During the '14th Five-Year Plan' period, China's biobased fibers have achieved a leapfrog growth. For the '15th Five-Year Plan', the industry needs to promote the domestic production and large-scale preparation of key monomers such as high-purity lactic acid, caprolactone, and furfonic acid, accelerate breakthroughs in large-capacity continuous polymerization and melt direct spinning technologies, and promote the domestic substitution of key equipment; make full use of resources such as straw, corn husks, fungus grass, and bamboo materials to achieve raw material diversification and build a sustainable supply system; deepen industry chain collaboration, promote the large-scale application of biobased chemical fibers in the terminal field; accelerate the formulation of standards such as biobased content determination, degradable fiber evaluation, and carbon footprint accounting, and build the competitive advantage of China's biobased chemical fiber products in the global green supply chain."
