On January 7, 2026, a roundtable discussion meeting on the "15th Five-Year Plan" development guidelines for the cotton textile industry, as well as a summary meeting of the "Jinrun - National Tour for High-Quality Development of the Cotton Textile Industry" was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. The meeting comprehensively summarized the research results of the "Jinrun - National Tour for High-Quality Development of the Cotton Textile Industry", consolidating the consensus on high-quality development; jointly planned the development blueprint for the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, aiming to formulate action plans that are in line with national strategies and based on industry realities. 

Representatives from key textile enterprises, textile machinery enterprises and other fields attended this meeting to jointly draw up a blueprint for the industry's development in the next five years and reach consensus. 

Jing Shenquan, the vice president of the China Cotton Textile Industry Association, presided over the meeting.

Anchor the high-quality development path of industries during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period

Facing the historic convergence and transformation during the "15th-16th" period, the cotton textile industry is at a crucial juncture of transformation and upgrading. How to formulate a "development guideline" that can both align with national strategies and precisely guide industry practices is a test of the industry's wisdom and vision. 

Dong Kuiyong, the president of the China Cotton Textile Industry Association, stated in his speech that formulating the "Development Guidelines for the Cotton Textile Industry during the 15th-16th Five-Year Plan" is of great significance and carries profound responsibility. This guideline must have dual attributes. It should not only precisely align with the overall concepts and development directions of the national and textile industry "15th-16th Five-Year Plan", but also be based on the characteristics of the cotton textile industry itself, clearly defining the development goals, key tasks, and guarantee measures that are in line with the actual situation of the industry. It should truly make the plan a "compass" and "construction drawing" that guides the industry towards high-quality development. 

Dong Kuiyong pointed out that in October 2025, the "Proposal of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development" adopted by the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee fully demonstrated the country's high regard for traditional industries, and also pointed out the macro direction for the development of the cotton textile industry. Regarding this "Guiding Opinions on the Development of the Cotton Textile Industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan Period (Draft for Soliciting Opinions)", Dong Kuiyong introduced that it is based on the discussion meeting held in Anqing, Anhui Province in April 2025, and its core content fully incorporates the key issues discussed by industry colleagues at the China Cotton Textile Conference in June 2025, namely "Jointly Promoting the High-Quality Development of China's Cotton Textile Industry".
