2024 Pan-Great Bay Area textile and apparel foreign trade situation analysis and cooperation symposium will be held

In order to implement the deployment of the Central Economic Work Conference, actively cultivate new growth drivers for textile and garment foreign trade, conduct in-depth analysis of the current foreign trade situation, opportunities and challenges faced by textile and garment industrial clusters in the Greater Bay Area and its neighboring provinces, and promote further exchanges and cooperation between industrial clusters, parks and enterprises in the Greater Bay Area relying on platforms such as key cities, key cross-border cooperation zones and free trade zones, On June 5, the China Textile Association Industrial Cluster Working Committee will hold the "2024 Greater Bay Area Textile and Garment Foreign Trade Situation Analysis and Cooperation Symposium" during the 2024 Greater Bay Area International Textile and Garment Expo.


The conference will be guided by the China Textile Industry Federation and hosted by the China Textile Industry Cluster Working Committee and the Textile Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. It is planned to invite experts from the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce, Macao Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Trade Exchange Center, Guangdong Cross-border E-commerce Association and other relevant institutions. Focus on the analysis of the current situation of textile and apparel foreign trade, the trend of foreign trade cooperation in the Greater Bay Area, the interpretation of the RCEP rules of origin and the practice of enjoying customs clearance, and the exploration of the current cross-border e-commerce operation strategy.


We welcome industrial clusters, parks and enterprises from all over the country, especially from Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Hunan and other key provinces, to participate in the conference and discuss the situation and opportunities of textile and garment foreign trade in the Greater Bay Area.


The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area includes the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, and the cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing (hereinafter referred to as the nine PRD cities) of Guangdong Province. It covers an area of 56,000 square kilometers and has a total population of about 70 million at the end of 2017. It is one of the regions with the highest degree of openness and the strongest economic vitality in China, and has an important strategic position in the overall situation of national development.


The development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is not only a new attempt to promote the formation of a new pattern of all-round opening up in the new era, but also a new practice to promote the development of "one country, two systems". From the overall basis of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, obvious geographical advantages, strong economic strength, innovative factors cluster, leading internationalization level, and good cooperation foundation are its typical characteristics.


From the perspective of the future strategic positioning of the overall development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the development of a dynamic world-class city cluster, an international technological innovation center with global influence, an important support for the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, a demonstration zone for in-depth cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong and Macao, and a quality living circle suitable for living, business and tourism is also a very forward-looking overall goal. In terms of the overall spatial layout of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the leading role of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will also be further played, and the radiation will drive the development of the pan-Pearl River Delta region.


Its overall goal is to coordinate the productivity distribution of the nine PRD cities and the East and northwest regions of Guangdong, and promote the development of the surrounding areas. To build an important economic support belt with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as its leader and the Zhujiang-Xijiang Economic Belt as its hinterland, driving the development of the Central and southwestern regions and radiating Southeast Asia and South Asia.


Improve the transport network between the Greater Bay Area and other provinces and regions in the Pan-PRD region, deepen regional cooperation, develop "enclave economy" in an orderly manner, facilitate the flow of factors and industrial transfer in the pan-PRD region, and form an industrial collaboration system featuring gradient development, rational division of Labour and complementary advantages.
