From July 13th to 15th, the "2026 International Conference on Eco-textiles" was grandly held in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. This conference, with the theme of "Green Textiles, Healthy Future, Connected Education - Building a Global Textile Community", aimed to deepen the multilateral academic, industrial and textile education exchanges among the global textile academic community in the fields of ecology and sustainable textiles. The conference was hosted by Jiangnan University, and scholars, industry representatives and academic experts from universities and regions such as Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Australia and Hungary gathered together to discuss the major plans for global ecological textile development. Professor Ma Pipo, the dean of the School of Textile Science and Engineering, presided over the opening ceremony. 

Zhang Yinglu, a member of the Party Standing Committee and Vice President of Jiangnan University, delivered an opening speech in which she highlighted the remarkable achievements the university has made in the "Double First-Class" project and ESI discipline rankings. She pointed out that since its establishment over 70 years ago, the Textile Science and Engineering College has built a complete talent cultivation system covering undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. The textile discipline has consistently ranked among the top three in the world according to the Soft Science ranking of world-class disciplines, and its core specialties have long been among the top in the country. Currently, the global textile industry is entering a transformation stage where traditional processes and cutting-edge technologies are integrating deeply. Green, low-carbon, intelligent connectivity, and health empowerment are reshaping the boundaries of the discipline. The university is willing to collaborate with the industry to explore new models of multi-party industry-university-research cooperation, and jointly promote the high-end, intelligent, and green upgrading of global textile education and industry. 

Zhou Hongsong, the president of Jiangsu Province Textile Engineering Society, delivered a speech in which he introduced the explorations and achievements of Jiangsu Province in recent years in terms of textile green manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, and internationalization layout.
