The 2026 Advanced Fibre Materials Innovation Conference was recently held in Caoqiao, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. Organized by the China Textile Science Research Institute Co., Ltd., the conference was attended by over a hundred representatives from national textile industry chain enterprises and industry associations, who jointly explored the latest progress in fibre new materials and their industrialization paths. 

Jiang Junhua, the chairman, secretary-general, general manager of General Technology New Materials, and the chairman of China Textile Research Institute, stated that currently, China's textile industry is in a critical period of high-end, intelligent, green and integrated development. Advanced fiber materials are an important engine for generating new productive forces. He introduced that General Technology New Materials and China Textile Research Institute have been deeply engaged in Qiaoqiao for over 20 years, with cumulative investment exceeding 600 million yuan. They have established a textile industrial park of nearly 120 acres and achieved good industrial benefits. In the future, General Technology New Materials will rely on the resources of national-level research platforms to continuously promote the transformation and large-scale application of fiber new material innovation achievements in Qiaoqiao, and continuously inject impetus into the quality improvement and efficiency enhancement of the local textile industry. 

Zheng Junlin, the vice president of the China Chemical Fibers Industry Association, stated that the domestic chemical fiber industry has moved beyond the scale expansion model and is now in a crucial transformation period focused on value enhancement. He suggested that the industry should adhere to its innovation commitment, overcome core technologies, delve into the green and low-carbon sector, deepen digital manufacturing empowerment, unite the collaborative efforts of the industry, accelerate the transformation of cutting-edge technologies, and jointly promote the upgrading of advanced fiber materials. 

At the conference, industry experts such as Chinese Academy of Engineering院院士， professor of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, and director of the National Key Laboratory of Biobased Fiber Materials, Cheng Bowen, delivered several keynote speeches. They focused on high-performance fibers， recycling of used textiles， green lyocell fibers， polyamide spinning， intelligent evaluation of textiles， and digital transformation of textile enterprises， presenting a number of core technological achievements and proposing new solutions for industrialization implementation.
