On May 21st, as an important part of the "High-Quality Development Forum of the Design Industry in Beijing Sub-City of the 2026 Global Digital Economy Conference" - the "Innovative and Extraordinary - Moving Forward Towards New Directions - Cooperation Conference between Districts, Universities and Enterprises", the "Innovative and Extraordinary - Moving Forward Towards New Directions - Cooperation Conference between Districts, Universities and Enterprises" was held at the Tongzhou Campus of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. 

Yan Yan, Vice Chairman of the International Textile Manufacturers Association, Vice Chairman of the China Textile Industry Federation, and Party Secretary of the China Textile Information Center, Gao Bingyang, Director of the Tongzhou District Management Committee of the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, Huang Kexing, Party Secretary of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, as well as leading officials from the Beijing Economic and Information Technology Bureau, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Qunqiao City Industrial and Information Technology Bureau of Jiangxi Province, the China Textile Industry Federation, the China Textile Information Center, and the National Textile Product Development Center, along with representatives from over 50 enterprises in the fields of textile and clothing, fashion design, and technological innovation from across the country, jointly attended the event. They engaged in practical discussions on topics such as school-city integration, industry-city symbiosis, and school-enterprise collaboration. The matchmaking conference was chaired by Wang Zheng, the Party Secretary and Vice President of the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.

In her speech, she pointed out that the integration of education and industry is the inevitable path for the high-quality development of design education. She reviewed the development process of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology since its establishment in 1959, which started from engineering, crossed into the field of art, and achieved remarkable success through integration. She emphasized that the school, rooted in the urban sub-center, has released the "Action Plan for Integrating Education and Industry to Promote the Development of the Sub-center", which is an action declaration to break the boundaries and embrace industries. It establishes a deep collaboration model between the school and enterprises, promoting complementary advantages, resource sharing, and value win-win between the two parties, and continuously giving rise to a new future design ecosystem of openness, coexistence, and continuous improvement.

The strategic planning and core opportunities for the development of the design industry in the urban sub-center were systematically expounded. The policy advantages of Zhangjiawan Design Town in terms of enterprise establishment, tax incentives, and talent support were particularly highlighted. She stated that for the school-enterprise cooperation projects, special measures such as transformation and application subsidies, joint laboratory construction, and dual appointment of talents have been established. Efforts have been made to connect the entire chain from "university research and development - park incubation - enterprise transformation - regional specialization", aiming to inject continuous momentum into the high-quality development of the design industry. 

At the meeting, the various secondary colleges of the school, as well as the Party Committee's Student Affairs Department, the Domestic Cooperation and Education Practice Department, the Science and Technology Department, and the Frontiers and Interdisciplinary Research Institute, which have close cooperation with enterprises, respectively introduced their core work contents. The relevant responsible persons of the secondary colleges focused on presenting the professional characteristics and disciplinary advantages of the school in areas such as fashion design, textile materials, digital creativity, fashion communication, artificial intelligence, fashion management, and fine arts, fully demonstrating the school's comprehensive strength and cutting-edge layout in interdisciplinary integration and serving the innovative development of the industry. 

During the precise cooperation negotiation session between the district, the university and the enterprises, the investment promotion specialist of the Tongzhou Park of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, the representatives of the participating enterprises, and the representatives of the teachers from Beijing Fashion University were divided into six specialized groups: clothing design and research, textile fabric design and research, jewelry and luggage shoes hats, new consumption products, brand marketing and communication. They had in-depth exchanges on directions such as fabric research and development, creative design, brand marketing and digital transformation. 

This event connected 50 enterprises and formed 45 practical cooperation intentions, covering areas such as textile material research and development, design innovation, AI digital application, integration of intangible cultural heritage and tourism, talent recruitment, brand marketing, and supply chain collaboration. All parties reached a high level of consensus in aspects such as new material research and development, joint technical research, activation and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, AI empowerment of industries, collaborative education between schools and enterprises, and project implementation. The on-site negotiation atmosphere was lively and the results were remarkable, demonstrating the powerful synergy and broad prospects of the collaborative innovation among the district, universities and enterprises.
